Unsent Invitation

Lights dancing in the distance,
String instruments float across the hills,
As I sit quietly awaiting your company.

I wait in vain,
Simply because I did not send an invitation to you,
Yet, I sit here looking in your direction.

Colours whisk through the air,
Music reverberates through my heart,
I hum a tune patiently waiting for you.

What am I doing?
I expect you to know what I want,
When I don’t.
Clearly, this is not right.

Still my heart races,
Joy fills me,
Taping my feet expecting your arrival.

I hope to see a shape solidify in the distance,
And you start to materialize,
Adding words to the instrumental that is my life,
Obviously, how is this to happen?
If that invitation is not first sent,
From me to you.

Soul Betrayal                      [August 29 2005]

Pouring my soul into a silver chalice
so you can drink it up like you do the blood
of the sacrifices you make to your state of denial
Ignoring what you are inside

Churning through flesh that drips with rot
from the lies you left out in the sun
days of circles running around
in this maze you built to slow me down

You're poison to all you touch
negative vibrations and negative intentions
that steel through the night like a dark cloud
overshadowing, overturning the slumbering babes
Innocents that got caught up in your web of deceit
